1908 His son, Eduard, takes over his father's business
1916 Eduard Benteler purchases his first engineering works ...
1918 ... and produces his first drawn tubes
1922 Founding of the Benteler AG
1923 Start of manufacturing of seamless and welded tubes in Paderborn-Schloß Neuhaus
1930 Production of masts and candelabra
1935 First order from the automotive industry - exhaust pipes for the Ford Eifel
1945 - 1950 Rebuilding of manufacturing facilities by Erich and Helmut Benteler: bicycle and automotive industry/seamless and hot-rolled tubes/textiles finishing, plastic and glass processing machines
1951 Benteler produces refrigerators under the brand name "Delta"
1951 - 1952 Production of the "Champion" small car in Paderborn-Mönkeloh. A total of 2,000 cars is produced.
1955 The first steel is cast in Paderborn-Schloß Neuhaus
1957 Founding of the first "Röhren- und Stahllager" - today Benteler Handel GmbH
1958 First continuous casting plant in the world
1974 New steelworks in Lingen Ems
1976 Benteler's centenary
1977 First production of axles in the Paderborn-Talle plant
1980 First production facility in the USA - beginning of the international extension of company sites
1985 Establishment of a transfer line in the Paderborn-Talle plant for the first bulk order of rear axle support
1987 Plant opened in Spain
1991 Spezialisation in pre-finished components for the automotive industry and "just-in-time" supply to the automakers
1992 - 1997 New Benteler Automotive plants open in Mexico, Portugal, Czech Republic, Brazil, Great Britain, Italy and Argentina
1999 Benteler becomes a management holding company with independent business divisions
2001 Benteler celebrates its 125th anniversary and looks back on 4 generations in family ownership
2007 Benteler Steel/Tube buys Rothrist-Group. The company manufactures welded precision steel tubes mainly used in the automotive industry.
2008 Benteler Distribution established locations in Eastern Europa and founded local companies in Romania, Croatia and the Ukraine

Benteler`s Day Care Center "Rohrspatzen" opened at the largest site in Paderborn, Germany.
2010 Benteler Automotive buys the Automotive Structures Business of Norwegian firm Norsk Hydro ASA. The business unit manufactures aluminum components for the automotive industry.

Benteler Automotive took over a pressing plant in Puebla, Mexico, which is now doing business under the name of Benteler Puebla Stamping.

The former engineering companies PDE Automotive, Incon Automotive and Fasitet PDE have been unified and are now operating under the single name Benteler Engineering Services.

Effective July 1, 2010 the newly founded Benteler International AG with Head Office in Salzburg/Austria supplements the structure of the Benteler Group. The strategic management functions of the corporation shall be concentrated in this holding company.
