Prevention and sustainability in occupational and health protection

The protection of our employees’ health is a top priority at Benteler. We have taken numerous measures to prevent accidents and occupational diseases, reduce stress and improve working conditions. The success of these efforts is shown by occupational safety indicators, declining absenteeism, employee motivation and, most significantly, the entire success of our corporation. As part of our “Zero Accidents” initiative, for example, our plant workers were educated and sensitized to potential work environment risks.  This project and other technological measures are having an on-going impact; the number of accidents has fallen steadily in recent years and could be even reduced more significantly. We also identified Best Practice examples of preventive occupational safety and adapted them to local conditions for our plant workshops around the world. Trainings at all levels ensured rapid conformity throughout the entire organization.
