Discover your possibilities with Benteler and visit our job market
The application can take place at any time - however, the sooner, the better. The International Management Trainee Program begins when we have found the perfect candidate.
Please pay attention to further details on job openings.
The candidates will be interviewed by representatives from the HR departments and from the specific field of interest they are applying for.
Basically we suggest applying for announced positions. However, we are also interested in unsolicited applications.
Yes. The International Management Trainee Program has an international focus; therefore we appreciate applications from all different countries. Good German language skills are of great importance, as most of the departments the trainees will work for are located in Germany.
The International Management Trainee Program is mainly targeted at recent college graduates.
We expect the candidates to have international experience by means of international studies, internships or work experience. Participating in language trips or working as an au pair is not our definition of international experience.
We expect from a management trainee to be highly motivated and to think both analytically and conceptually. Management trainees should have a persuasive personality and excellent communication skills. They should be hard-working and committed, energetic and positive. They consistently pursue their goals, show self-initiative and are professional at all times. We expect our trainees to be fluent in at least two languages, one of them English. A good knowledge of German is a must.
If you live in Germany at the beginning of the Trainee Program, Benteler will help with the application for the work permit. If you are located outside Germany, we will assist you by providing information and completing the application form.
Our Trainee Program takes 18 months including a stay abroad of approximately four months.
Yes. During the program, the Benteler Trainees participate in different seminars and workshops, e.g. presentation techniques, project management, personality development, intercultural communication etc.
Each Management Trainee has an assigned mentor from the senior management level. This mentor will not only help to develop a program schedule, but will also assist you with your personality development.
The responsibilities of a Management Trainee depend on the job functions. All scopes of duties have a high level of responsibility.
In the course of the program you will have the possibility to work in at least three different areas for a specific period. You will be deployed in the Benteler Holding and no less than two business units.
Most of the trainees are placed in Paderborn, Germany, at first, but there are also possible applications at other locations. Further assignments will be at our other German locations. The stay abroad will take place at our head offices and plants abroad. Mobility is an advantage for selecting from possible applications in different regions.
Trainees are usually evaluated by their direct supervisor at the end of each work-term. After each evaluation a feedback interview with the trainee’s tutor will take place.
Upon completion of the International Management Trainee Program, discussions with the HR department and the mentor of the trainee are the basis for finding a next suitable position. Successful performances at all stations are the decisive factor to get the desired position.
Employment at a Benteler location outside of Germany is possible by all means. Relationships built up during the 18 month program and your stay abroad are very important for this.
